Haven Horse Ranch
Making Memories that last a lifetime!
2011 marked our 2nd year for the Birdies for Charity fundraising campaign. This year
was even better than the one before. We did so well, the PGA decided to highlight
HHR in a special video, which only touches on some of the miracles we have seen,
or shall we say "heard".
This page is dedicated to videos of what we we do and how it impacts our youth. This ranch does not exist for fame and fortune, we exist to improve the lives of today’s youth.
“It’s about so much more than riding a horse!!!”
In March 2011, First Coast News reporter Corinne Hautala did a story on Haven Horse Ranch and our therapy programs. She met Chloe, Lori, and of course Wyatt; spent some time talking to them, getting to know the challenges they face everyday. When she left she was speechless. She found out how we have changed the lives of these individuals. Ok, so it was the horses that changed their lives but someone had to lead the horses around. Here is the story that was aired on March 9, 2011
Meet Wyatt, a 4 year old young man with Cerebral Palsy. He came to us with braces
on both legs and a walker. The doctors said he would never walk. In just 3 short
months of therapeutic riding he . . . well, see for yourself.
"It is very hard to put into words what Haven Horse means to our family. The experience Wyatt is receiving at Haven Horse is so enriching and awe-inspiring. Wyatt recently took his first steps at over four and a half years old shortly after adding horse therapy to the mix. Our family would like to thank all of the wonderful people that run the Ranch for making Wyatt feel like family. You can tell they love what they do and that they are so dedicated to helping the children. Haven Horse is providing an incredible service to the children and we are blessed to have them in our lives."
- Margaret Brinks, Wyatt's Mom
This is a video that was put together back in 2009. It was used for our first ever fundraising dinner. The response to this video was huge. We have since included this video with many of our grant requests and show it to anyone that asks, “What is Haven Horse Ranch?” Quite simply, Haven Horse Ranch is...“The Time of our Lives”
Lorri is one of our therapy patients that suffered a spinal cord injury as an adult. She is paralyzed from the belly button down. She came as part of the Brooks Rehabilitation Adaptive Sports Program. She wanted to start taking lessons. Her ultimate goal, her dream, was to go out on a trail ride. This is a video diary of her journey to fulfill her dream.
