Kids will head to the barn for some hands on work, grooming, saddling, and some training
instruction. They learn a bit about what it's like to try to get a horse; to do what’s
best for the horse instead of what the horse wants to. Making the horse do the simplest
things, even when it doesn't want to. But, we're just talking about horses.
Parents will dig deeper into learning about communications and horses. How do they
think? Why do they react the way they do. How to improve communications and how to
use instincts to build trust, instead of fighting with them. Of course, we will just
be talking about horses.
Then we will all join back up for lunch, where we can discuss what we've learned
so far. After lunch we will all work as a group with the horses both on the ground
and riding, as always on these weekends, riding is optional.
Saturday morning will start with some joint classroom session. Starting with some
brief introductions, we will then discuss objectives. What do you want to accomplish?
What do you want to learn? After all, this is your weekend. Next, we will split up
the groups.
Saturday night we'll have some down time. Sit by the pond under the moonlight and
relax. Take a walk around our 26 acre ranch. Feel like dancing? Stay for some line
dancing lessons. Roast some marshmallows under the country sky, listen to the sounds
of the night or try to count the stars. Feel like doing some shopping? The St. Augustine
outlet malls are only a short drive away. What is your perfect ending to a perfect
day?
Sunday will be a more of the same or a group trail ride. As always, this schedule
is subject to modification based on the needs and wishes of the group in attendance.
After all, it's your weekend!
What a great way to spend some quality time with your family, learn more about the
others horse passion and learn a lot about how to better relate and communicate!
Not to mention have an awesome, fun filled weekend!
