What is Birdies for Charity?
Birdies for Charity is a pledge drive sponsored by The The Players Championship (The Players), in connection with the PGA Tour, in an effort to help local charities and non-profit organizations. It is also a way to win so,me great prizes along with giving back to the community. Birdies for Charity runs January 9th - May 9th, 2012.
How does it work?
It's simple, make a donation of at least $20. The participant will make a guess on the total number of birdies that will be shot during The Players Championship tournament and the number of balls hit in the water at the 17th hole. If you guess the correct amount or are the closest, you could win some great prizes (see below). In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will be whoever guesses the total number of balls hit in the water on Hole #17. The minimum donation to make a guess is $20, but all donations are welcomed! The Stadium Course in Sawgrass is home to one of the world’s most renowned holes in all of golf. This par 3, island hole is the most photographed hole in the world. Here is a list of how many balls have been shot into the water in past tournaments.

Birdie History
A "birdie" is a score that is one shot under the designated par shots for a particular hole on the golf course. Here is a list of previous years recorded birdies.

What Can You Win ?
The Players will award $5,000 to the person that guesses the correct number of birdies shot at The Players Championship, May 9th - 13th, 2012.
Not only can you win a great prize from The Players, but Haven Horse Ranch offers it's own prizes as well.
- For a $20 pledge that you make through HHR, the donor will receive a gift certificate for a free car wash and oil change courtesy of Bozard Ford.
- For a $50 pledge, we will add a coupon sheet valued over $200 for various restaurants and other activities in St. Augustine.
- For a $100 pledge, we will add a free trail ride at Haven Horse Ranch
Also, whoever pledges to Haven Horse Ranch and guesses the correct number of birdies or is the closest without going over will win a grand prize of a 4 Day/3 Night stay in the Royal Towers at the Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
Family Dinner Night
Throughout the birdies campaign, some local restaurants will be hosting family dinner nights. If you eat at the designated restaurant on family night, 10% of your check will be donated to our therapy programs here at Haven Horse Ranch.
